Last year, when the wonderful members of the Smocking Arts Guild of America reached out to me and invited me to be the featured guest teacher at their annual conference in September (which is just around the corner!), I was honestly quite overwhelmed. They’re a group of incredibly talented smocking experts, while my experience with smocking contemporary clothing is still relatively new. However, as someone who has fallen deeply in love with this craft, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share what I've learned so far.
After numerous discussions and brainstorming sessions (big thanks to everyone on the guild's forums for their insightful feedback), we came up with a fantastic lineup of workshops. I’ve spent the entire year preparing for these classes, and I’m thrilled with how everything is shaping up.
