What is albite?

Naal feldspar (NaAlSi3O8), also known as labradorite or cinnabar, is a triclinic system with a specific gravity of 2.6-2.65g/cm3, which is grayish white with yellow. Its theoretical composition is SiO268.8%, Al2O319.4%, Na2O11. .8%. Sodium feldspar is a good raw material for ceramic flux (from the role of fluxing). It has the advantages of saving fuel consumption, improving the mechanical strength of the body and reducing the water absorption rate. It is mainly used in ceramics, glass, enamel and other departments.

Sodium feldspar is a sodium aluminosilicate (NaAlSi3O8), a triclinic glassy crystal, generally colorless, white, yellow, red or black, which is a class of feldspar. Sodium feldspar is a frame-like silicate structure with a specific gravity of 2.62 and a Mohs hardness of 6-6.5, wherein the content of anorthite is less than 10%.

Albite is a sodium mineral of the plagioclase solid solution series, most common in pegmatites and granites, first discovered in Sweden in 1815.

Sodium feldspar characteristics

Sodium feldspar has the following characteristics:

1. The melting of quartz, clay and mullite at high temperature is fast and the solubility is large.

2. Low melting temperature and good transparency.

3. The melting temperature range is narrower than that of potassium feldspar, and the melt has a low viscosity at high temperature and changes rapidly with temperature.
