Liao Chuangbin: I only started to touch folk jewelry in 2007. At that time, it was through one of my consultants. He is a professor at Shanghai Jiaotong University and has a lot of research on Chinese culture. I was influenced by him and began to pay attention to Chinese folk ornaments. Liao Chuangbin: Based on the ancient Chinese fine gold craft jewelry and utensils. Chinese jewelry replacement is too fast. Based on financial considerations, the direction of our locked collection is gold and silverware. Because the Ming and Qing Dynasties was a period when the Chinese jewelry manufacturing process reached its peak, our collection was mainly concentrated in this period, and there were many ethnic collections. Ethnic jewelry is typical of the Miao, Tibetan and Mongolian people of this period.

Reporter: The sources of jewelry are scattered all over the country. Is the collection process more difficult?

Liao Chuangbin: We are still relatively smooth. From the very beginning, I didn’t understand anything. At the time of the final contact, I knew that the amount of domestic jewelry collections was very small, and they were all concentrated in the hands of several people. These people are basically university professors, and there are Chinese Academy of Fine Arts. Qing Hua Yuan Hospital and so on. From their perspective, they have been collecting for decades, slowly accumulating, and embodying great efforts and emotions. Therefore, it would be more difficult to communicate with them at the beginning. Later, when they talked to them, they repeatedly talked about each other and opened up with friends. Slowly they trusted me. Therefore, I feel a little emotion and feel that everyone has a protection and heritage of Chinese culture. I think that many people still have such awareness. The oldest gentleman in Guizhou is an old gentleman from Guizhou. His collection is very rich. He has organized a Guizhou crafts collection. I have taken a look at his group of treasures, including 100 pairs of silver dragon bracelets. Each pair is the same. . I contacted him in 1997. The old gentleman also came to visit me from Guizhou, because he said that you can't turn my hand when I bought something. He is particularly afraid of selling it to foreigners. Liao Chuangbin: When I discussed with Prof. Chen in 1997, I said that as long as 500 pieces, we could almost do a small museum. We can refer to the form of a museum of folk jewelry. Liao Chuangbin: At the beginning, I was ignorant of this piece. I just had a bit of a whim on the styling process of jewelry. Liao Chuangbin: Regardless of how peers see it, I think that a company's vision of the future determines what a company should do. In my opinion, the designer is the core force that promotes the development of the entire industry. No matter what the business is, any change will begin to change from this level. If there is a change in the appearance of the designer, it must be changed. The core spirit in the design is culture. Why is it the brand name of Italy and France? In fact, the support behind it is culture. In China, I think we are very light culture. If we can all grasp this point of culture, We can all develop a brand very well. However, it may also be that the consumer’s self-perception has not yet reached that level. In the past few years, it was ridiculous to integrate jewelry with culture. Why did we get the Basel Prize in 2006? It is because of the use of cultural elements. However, at the beginning, when we started to do this in 2002 and 2003, no one wanted us to design. Most people in the previous years still preferred things from Europe and the United States, and they were not very proud of the nation. However, the changes over the past few years have been great. I think from now on, Chinese culture will certainly become a very important element in the jewelry industry.

Liao Chuangbin: For Chinese designers, they will increasingly use elements of Chinese culture in their designs. Domestic designers, they are actually very creative and imaginative, but if you put all their designs together, you will find that their style is very messy. I think this is the first problem for domestic designers. They are only pursuing new ones, but they do not have their own style. The second question, Chinese designers, put too much emphasis on their feelings in designing, but did not pay attention to whether their designs are suitable for the market. Chinese designers did not consider more, they are highly efficient, but the performance is very low. Foreign designers have not designed what elements to add before they are designed, who the sales target is, and what the sales market is.
